CISERO online session on the IPCEI-CIS Reference Architecture

Building a Unified Cloud-Edge Continuum for Europe

Following the release of Version 1.0 of the IPCEI-CIS Reference Architecture (ICRA), the next CISERO online session on 22 July 2025 will focus on the architecture’s role in advancing Europe’s federated, sovereign Multi-Provider Cloud-Edge Continuum.

Developed under the IPCEI-CIS as a strategic instrument within the 8ra Initiative, the ICRA provides a modular, layered framework for building interoperable digital infrastructures. It enables partners from across Europe to align technologies within a shared model – laying the foundation for cross-border integration, technological independence and sustainable innovation.

This session will offer insights into the architecture’s structure, federation mechanisms, and integration roadmap. Participants will also learn how to contribute to its technical evolution through pilot activities and collaborative development.

Key takeaways include:

  • Understand the purpose and value of the ICRA within the EU’s digital strategy
  • Explore its modular architecture, key layers, and federation principles
  • Learn how CISERO supports the ICRA’s evolution through open collaboration
  • Discover how to engage in the architecture’s technical implementation and pilot phases
  • Learn how to position your organisation within the IPCEI-CIS ecosystem
  • Contribute to shaping the next steps of the architecture’s evolution
