Highlights from the First FACIS Workshop on Joint SLA Governance
On 5 March 2025, experts from across Europe convened in Cologne for the inaugural workshop by the FACIS project dedicated to Joint SLA Governance – a key pillar for fostering seamless service delivery in federated cloud-edge environments.
The session brought together service providers and stakeholders to address a fundamental question: How can federated ecosystems ensure consistent service quality, legal clarity, and cross-border interoperability? Through focused discussions, participants identified essential requirements for harmonising Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across multiple providers, including:
- Adoption of a modular SLA structure to accommodate diverse service offerings
- Standardised, machine-readable SLA definitions to enable automation
- Clear accountability frameworks supporting cross-border service continuity
These findings directly contribute to the development of a robust SLA Governance Framework, integral to realising a resilient and interoperable Multi-Provider Cloud-Edge Continuum.
Looking ahead, the FACIS team will further refine the SLA Taxonomy and open the conversation to the wider community through an upcoming public online consultation. Stakeholders are invited to contribute and help shape the foundation for trusted, transparent multi-provider service agreements in Europe.
