Connecting future networks with Europe’s cloud-edge infrastructure

At EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026, the 8ra Initiative and CISERO will contribute to the discussion on how Europe can build cloud-edge infrastructures that are open, federated and ready for future communication networks.

Taking place from 2 to 5 June 2026 in Málaga, EuCNC & 6G Summit brings together researchers, industry representatives and ecosystem actors working on 6G, future communication systems, experimentation, testbeds, applications and services.

Connecting 6G with Europe’s cloud-edge future

For the 8ra Initiative, EuCNC & 6G Summit is an important forum to address a central question for Europe’s digital infrastructure: how can future communication networks, edge computing and distributed cloud infrastructures work together?

From an 8ra perspective, these layers cannot be considered separately. Europe’s next-generation digital services will depend on secure, interoperable and resilient infrastructure that enables data processing and service deployment across cloud and edge environments.

Through the 8ra Initiative, European partners are working to build a federated Multi-Provider Cloud-Edge Continuum that supports openness, interoperability, digital sovereignty and reduced technological dependency.

Sharing progress from the 8ra Initiative

Together, 8ra and CISERO will share insights into the current progress of the 8ra Initiative, the collaborative work behind the ecosystem and the role of open, federated cloud-edge architectures in strengthening Europe’s digital capacity.

As part of their contribution to the event, 8ra and CISERO will present a joint poster that highlights how the initiative connects technological development, European collaboration and the broader objective of building a sovereign cloud-edge infrastructure.

By bringing the 8ra perspective to EuCNC & 6G Summit, the contribution links the discussion on future communication networks with the infrastructure needed to make advanced digital services scalable, sovereign and interoperable across Europe.
