The Wind-X project is creating a new data space for the European wind industry, enabling data and information exchange across the entire value chain. This platform facilitates the sharing of critical information, such as CO₂ footprint data and real-time operational data from wind turbines, among relevant stakeholders. The project leverages a cloud-edge infrastructure that ensures high data sovereignty and is being developed within the framework of the IPCEI-CIS initiative.

The main objectives of Wind-X include identifying the most relevant data types for the wind industry, establishing appropriate standards for data exchange formats, and testing their implementation through use cases such as traceability and digital twins.

With its innovative approach, Wind-X contributes to Europe’s digital sovereignty by supporting an independent and modern energy supply. In remote locations with limited internet connectivity, the project offers new opportunities for the efficient utilisation and optimisation of operational data. By relying on European standards, Wind-X reduces dependence on non-European providers, thereby strengthening the security and resilience of Europe’s energy infrastructure.
